i go to the start button, press "shut down", it does, than a couple seconds later it reboots and comes back up. I have to pull the plug to get it to shut down, why does it do this, and how do i get it to shut of from the start button as normal ??

When you see the pop up that says
Shut Down
Restart
Standby;..etc.
make sure that you are on the Shut down mode.
If that doesn't work then you probably need to fix it because pulling out the plug may not be the best thing or you're computer

What is your operating system? Windows uses START>Turn off computer, then gives you a choice of Stand by, turn off, restart. I don't know where "shut down" comes from.

DON'T PULL THE PLUG UNLESS IT IS OFF.
it messes up the insides. That is a rule that is to never be broken. Take it to staples, they now have techs.

restart in safe mode.... run virus scan u may have one.
