Rap originated as an art to express the way the artist felt and was experiencing in their life, hood, even country.
I agree that nowadays rap has become less of an art and more part of a degrating way to prmote gangs, violenece, pimping, and so much more.
I don't think rap sucks but I like what it use to be not what it has become.

Just as you don't like rap, I'm sure there are people who loathe whatever it is you listen to. That's because we are all individuals. Myself, I listen to pop the most, rock, and some country, but there is a fair amount of hip-hop and rap I like - Eminem, some 50 Cent, a little Tupac. Mostly it's the beat; sometimes the lyrics. All depends on what type of mood I'm in. I do not listen to any cop-killer rap.

rap is pretty good. The beats and rhythm of the lyrics are sometimes addicting to ppl. Sometimes, good rap is found. It isn't about sexing with girls or drinking or drugs. It is actually about "something important" It is just like any other music genre. Rap is also very challenging, honestly I'd like to see you throw in so many words, keep the beat, and remember it all.

I've heard the acronym "R.A.P. , Retards Attempting Poetry". It was kinda funny..........Mid 90's hip hop had and still has the most advanced lyricism of any genre. Nowadays rap gets a bad.....well, rap..........from everything on T.V. and the radio

It's the beat. I mean come on, the lyrics leave much to be desired I know, but that beat is hypnotic. I mean it's way better than opera.

Because they can't resist the tribal sounds. They can't resist following what others have to say. They have no real opinion on their own.
