I have numerous birds of prey and a very well behaved, beutiful, long coated german wire haired pointer dog. And I am wondering if there is some kind of agency that i can sighn them up to for TV and modeling work? Would there be and upfront costs and would they each need a portfolio? I live in England.

I'm an amature photographer myself so getting a portfolio together would be pretty easy as i specialise in animal photos and have done many of the birds.

Here in the USA there are agencies that work with animals.

Legitimate agencies in the USA and I imagine in the UK do NOT charge upfront fees. Pay-to-play is unethical and wrong.

Find a photography student who can do "headshots" of your animals.

I hope someone in the UK can help you out.

But remember do not PAY TO PLAY.

Hi, sorry but I don't know the answers to your questions but I have found some websites that might answer them or steer you in the right direction:

This site, PetLondon, seems to be an agency for cats/dogs to appear in adverts & on tv:
http://www.petlondonmodels.com/...

This site seems to have a list of different agencies:
http://www.theactingwebsite.com/animals-...

as does this one:
http://www.albamodel.info/modeltypes.php...
Animals are mentioned at the bottom of the page. The link in the text doesn't work but you can click to the necessary webpage from the top of the page

Finally, I also found this site:
http://www.dogs-on-camera.com/html/homef...

You mention that you're an amateur photographer ... I wasn't sure if you were thinking of trying to sell your own photos? Anyway, if so, then you might want to look into stock photography web sites ... a couple of months back someone was asking about selling their photos on Answers & it was one of the recommendations ... you don't get much per picture sold but some pictures sell very well and some of the people responding claimed to be making a decent amount of money.

I'm sorry but I can't find the question or the answers but if you try searching under 'stock photography' - I just did & this is the first one that I found:
http://www.alamy.com/contributors/default.asp
I'm not recommending that particular site or anything as I dont know enough about it - just thought it might be a starter place for you to start investigating.

Hope this helps or at least a little

I think that the idea is for the clients to pay you and the agency take a percentage.
