I have a lot of water dreams as well. I think your dreams describe an emotional or even spiritual state, especially the going deeper and deeper - maybe even literally falling deeper and deeper into sleep and dream consciousness.

Freud thought that water dreams were, naturally, a desire to get back to the womb.

Prosaically, people often dream about water just before they wake up needing to go to the toilet!

I don't like water for swimming so no I don't dream about it, but if I did your's sounds like a good dream to have.
