This is unbelievable I am just randomly looking at questions put on ask. I was raised by a sociopath who went undiagnosed for over 70 years.
Until I actually had a word for it around the age of 22 when I would try to explain her to people I could only say that she is the personification of evil. I would get looked at by most like I was crazy.
When I was about twenty two I was told by a fellow soldier that the word for that is sociopath, about 36 when I got my first computer i looked it up and could not believe that I was looking at a description of my mother.
This woman had 6 children and raised 5 of them, not one of us escaped with out some sort of bad wiring. The oldest not raised by her is constantly battling depression, the one after her is a sociopath just like her mother, the girl after her is more than a faithful christian she is a religious fanatic, my older brother is a convicted child Molester, Me i am a mother of 8 and a recovering alcoholic of 14 years, and the youngest he is a active alcoholic.
This malignant tumor affected and infected six children you tell me are there sociopaths among us yes and I have proof unless she is dead finally

Yes, I have known and still know of sociopaths. The interesting thing about them, is that they can live their whole lives without anyone ever knowing that they are a sociopath. This is because they are so good at "acting the part" and doing what they have seen others do that works. Sometimes, however, you can see something evil in them. That is only if you really look close... (inside them). It is so scary. And how sad, too. Not for them, though, because they have absolutely no feelings whatsoever. NONE. Ziltch. Gonzo. Voido. Absento. I learned at the age of 43 (2 years ago), that my brother is probably one. I am so sure of it. I don't even want to get into that subject. But be very, very, afraid if you ever encounter one. They are ruthless, they are cold as ice on the inside and they would torture you just to beat bordom, if no one is looking.

I have known sociopaths - they're basically people who think that the rules don't apply to them. Some end up as murderers; most just find people who buy in to their messed-up worldview. A sociopath believes that it's OK to lie, steal, cheat, hurt people, and break rules to get what he wants. Many have figured out exactly what they can and can't get away with; they're not all hardened criminals. They are marked by a complete lack of understanding that what they do is wrong or that they should be sorry. They do, however, think that everyone else should have to act according to societal norms; only they are "special" and the ends justify the means when it comes to getting what they want. I knew a boy in college who stole from everyone else in the dorm (sneaking into their rooms) and thought he was justified because it was things he wanted. When he got busted for using someone else's checks to steal a computer from a store (he wanted to be able to play computer games at a faster speed) and was kicked out of the dorm and suspended, he sued the school (no kidding) because he thought he was being prosecuted unfairly. He just seemed to have no conscience and no guilt.

Sure have and still do. Ever watch "The Good Son" starring Mccauley Culkin and Elijah Wood? That's a great example. It's also a good movie.
