Well I don't normally do other people's homework, but I'll give you two quick points.

One is there is a fantastic economic waste caused by terrorisim. Think of all the money and time wasted on the TSA for example. I say wasted, not because the TSA isn't important, necessary, or good at their job; I say waste in the economic sense. Think of what that money could have done had it been invested in genetic research, or space research, or basic physics research. That is probably the biggest effect of terrorisim. The idea of terrorisim is of course to make freedom so expensive that the victims will just give in and the let the terrorists have what they want... it's a lot like a protection racket that way.

Of course the USA is so fabuliously wealthy we can afford it, so it won't work, but that is another issue.

The second effect of terrorisim is what it does to the economic development of the terrorist states. A good example of this is the greenhouses that were left in Gaza when the Israeli's pulled out. The Israelis had built huge greenhouses in Gaza and built a vegtable and flower industry there. They were loath to turn these expensive greenhouses over to the Palestinians. The Gates foundation and the E.U. stepped in and bought the Greenhouses from the Israelis for several million dollars ($14,000,000 IIRC).

Well as soon as the last Israeli troops left, the greenhouses were looted and destroyed.

Why? Well terrorists are a lot like gansters, there is no law in the areas they control. It is just "do this or I shoot you". Since there is no rule of law, economic activity is self defeating. Anyone who works hard and builds something and becomes rich, will just have the fruits of their labor taken from them by the first punk with an AK-47 and an uncle in Fatah (or Hamas) that comes along.

This means nobody will invest in an area that lacks rule of law. (Sometimes people will sink money in, only to see it lost. ) No security means no capital to invest. No investment means nothing gets built or started. This means no jobs. No jobs means no money to support what infrastructre existed before the terrorists came in the first place, and/or haven't looted yet. This brings about widespread poverty,

This incidentally is not totally bad for the terrorists. No jobs means that oftentimes your only employment option is to become a gunman in one of the terrorist armies, (this is what happened in Somalia) or to subsist off the foriegn aid which is administered by the terrorist "governments". (Having the government in charge of feeding your family has a way of cutting down political dissent.) This expands the number of terrorist "troops", making them stronger and increasing the terrorists hold over the population.

This is why the only areas of the Islamic world that aren't poor are the ones that have oil... a substance that was in place long before the Islamic Armies came and took the land from the Byzantines or the Persians.

So terrorisim causes the vicitm to waste money on economically unproductive uses, such as security. Terrorism however inflicts far greater harm on the states that export it, in that it, much like organized crime, prevents economic development and retards what economic activity does exist.

From my armchair view? It makes it harder to maintain a decent economy in any of the countries involved. Terrorism cost money and money is best spent on the people who want governments who can be lawmakers and actually solve their people's problems.

But that's just a quick view. Nothing really substantial. But the first things that come to mind are an unnecessary push to have their own way...to dictate and to ruin a free life and democracy for those they torment.
