Often one act is not enough to be able to tell for sure. What is the pattern of the person? Is the act an isolated event? What does the person do when he or she doesn't think others are watching?

Sincere act is lasting, it stays, it doesnt change, bcause its part of the person deep emotions, its not about winning brownie points, like phoniness. Phoniness is temporary, it changes with the wind, its superficial only to be part of the action.

It'll be easier to tell when you know the person long enough - his/her characters, personalities, etc...

For me, I am somewhat able to read people mind. Based on the person speech and looks, I could tell whether the person is since or not.

I shall give you some tips:
1) Listen when the person speak, does he/she sounds sarcastic when talking to you?
2) Look at his/her eyes when talking, see if he/she is rolling her eyes or keep focusing on somewhere other than looking into your eyes - if so that person is insincere.
3) Notice his/her normal behaviours.

Hope these will help...

A sincere act is made with no expectation of reciprocation or recognition.
