It sounds a little childish to me and you should tell her that you didn't appreciate that and maybe she will settle down enough to apologize! That stuff (salsa) can stain your clothes and carpet if you were standing on carpet at the time.

LMAO So, least she's not hitting you, right? You just said the same thing my boyfriend said to me when I threw a mcdonalds chicken sandwich at him when we were fighting. Yes I know it's rude, probably stains your clothes, but think about the reason she threw it, what'd you do or say? when you all aren't fighting/arguing, let her know you don't like it, it's disrespectful, why etc etc.

I'm not sure I'd call it abuse. It's physical, and fighting, but abuse implies more than just a physical fight.
