Fermentation is the breakdown of sugars by bacteria. If you would like to do a classic fermentation experiment, you could opt for wine making kits, where specialized yeast bacteria breakdown mashed up grapes. You could technically ferment with any type of yeast if you do not want to spend money on a home wine making kit however the taste of the wine may be slightly more sour or even bitter depending on the type of yeast used. However the process is the same:
Place bacterial yeast into mashed up fruits (or anything with a sugary content, even sugar water would work) in a closed container, wait 2-3 weeks ensuring proper removal of CO2 gas from the container, remove and solid wastes (dead yeast particles, leftover fruit sludge), resulting liquid is ethanol, a primary by-product of fermentation.

This is a great experiment to do:get a large bowl and put baking soda(or other acid).Put a candle in the middle, light it on and pour vinegar on the side of bowl.Later, the fire disappears.then try to light the candle again,it is impossible!

Hope you have fun!(shh! I am actually gr.4!)
