No place you'd want to live really. Rents are sky high in LA. Check out the lofts Downtown. Some of them are reasonable. Also watch Craig's List and Westside Rentals (you have to be a member to that one). Good luck.

you can get really really cheap, depends if you want to live in a basement sleeping next to the boilers in a high crime area, location is everhthing. the further away from conveince the cheaper things get. also LA is kind of a broad term its a big city, in fact several cities bordering each other. i'm sure you can find an apartment at any budget over there, it just depends on how far your willing to travel to get something or somewhere.
