The music coming out of today's so called "hit stations" is the worst crap I've ever heard. I thought these stations were supposed to play the best music there is to offer in our day and age.
Instead, I hear song after song which all sound the same. There's no innovation, only the same formula producing the same generic meaningless song. It sounds like the soul of music has been traded for well polished plastic.

A handful of mega-corporations own most of the stations and promote what is bought most. It will only improve when listeners desire something more interesting. Your best hope is to avoid "Top 40" stations.

I totally agree with you. When I am driving I keep having to change the radio station because it is a crapy song.
