it even says in the constitution that people should rise up against the government. Are you happy with our current system or should we change it?

I see a lot of good answers here. Research and read the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Yes, it grants the citizen to question government, not to rise against it. If the time comes, we must defend ourselves against the tyranny that is very well on its way to plaguing our country. Yes we have reached the level of fascism(big business and big governments are in charge, are they not?) and dictatorship(President Bush saying he's above the law constitutes as a dictatorship).

The more we get informed about what's really happening out there, the better chance we have of telling others. The more they tell, the better chances we have of shutting them down. Hell, 1 in 3 people in N. America say 9/11 was an inside job(me being included on this). People are waking up now in greater numbers, but will it be too late. I don't know. We'll see.

Yes, what is also in the constitution is voting that is how the American revolution works, if you don't like the way things are going campaign and get enough people to go along with it and change what you do not like, it happens every two years and every forth year we can change the leadership in the executive branch. America will always have a living revolution because of this. Problems are not enough people care about the rights or wrongs of this country to vote, but if the cause is just then things can be changed.

I don't know what constitution you are reading, but it's not the U.S. Constitution. I challenge you to find anything in the text of the Constitution that even resembles a call to rise up against the government. Perhaps you should read it.

You may be referring to the Declaration of Independence, which you should also read. The passage you may be thinking of is probably this one:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. "

Let's take this step by step. The passage makes the following points:

1. All men are endowed with rights.
2. The purpose of government is to protect (secure) these rights.
3. Governments get their power from the consent of the governed (the people).
4. If the government fails to protect these rights, then the people have the right to replace it with a government that upholds the above principles.

BUT:

5. We should not take this power lightly. Prudence dictates that we should not alter the government "for light and transient causes."

AND:

6. If we can suffer through the rough spots we should just suffer through them instead of taking the HUGE step of just abolishing the current government.

As long as we have elections in this country, the rough spots will always be "transient." So we are far from the point where we need to think about revolution. Also, further down in the Declaration, you should read the 27 grievances that Jefferson lays out against the King (the current government). They are way more egregious than the problems we face with our government today.

If you want revolution, don't look to the Constitution or to the Declaration for support. Yours is a seriously misguided line of reasoning.

Every revolution that is successful anywhere in the world does nothing but become another bureaucracy that people will be unsatisfied with. Cuba, the former U.S.S.R., the National Socialist party in Germany (Nazi's)...all of them started with giving the people what they wanted (or, at least, telling them they would get it) and all became corrupt to the point that the people had nothing because the government took everything.

Look at the latest revolutions in history...all of them have led to dictatorship. It's going to happen in Venezuela since their president was granted (by his group of "yes-man") complete power to do as he wishes, just as Hitler and Stalin were.

Happy with the current system, not this one or the next or the next. But, it could be worse, world history teaches us that.

To have a revolution the citizens need to show courage.
I don't see that in the American people.
I see a people forced to work every day just to keep their heads above water, and when they do eventually come home from work they're faced with an endless succession of mindless TV drivel, a coffee table stacked high with unopened bills, and a kid crying its eyes out in the cot.
It's a never ending cycle, which the government have helped to engineer. Why?
An educated population with nothing to do can be an explosive situation.

You are thinking of the Declaration of Independence where it says:

Why change it? It's been doing us well since the countries beginning so why change it risking it fall into the arms of some power hungry dictator? Just cause the government makes some decisions you don't agree with, doesn't mean we've became a fascist or dictatorship. Why not use your power as a citizen to try and make the country a better one, so many people don't even know what they're capable of that they actually think they're powerless.

God yea , we NEED a revolution . Republicans and Democrats are only performing a theatrical charade where the outcome is assured . And it doesnt bode well for the common man

We can only lose our Freedom and our Country by good people not standing up and fighting for it!! There are those in the world who like to instill fear in others, but this can only happen if we cooperate in allowing it to germinate in our minds and hearts!!! UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL!! DON"T LISTEN TO THE FEAR MONGERS!! HOLD OUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CONDUCT!! REMIND THEM TO PUT THE COUNTRY AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FIRST!! No one who works for a living should have to live in poverty!!
