You can have a BA or BS in psychology. You don't even HAVE to have an undergraduate degree in psychology. The graduate degree is most important.
I have my BS, but a lot of people in my graduate program have their BA. Some have it in psychology, some social work, sociology, english, even music. Remember that it is the graduate degree that counts.

Absolutely not. There may be some educational programs that have certain restrictions but there are certainly a number that accept BA's as well as BS's. The main thing they look for is whether or not your psychology degree consists of classes that they believe to be appropriate to the learning of psychology. IN that case you may have to take a few more general psychology classes at the psychology institution before being accepted in a master's degree and doctoral degree program. Don't give up your goal to become a psychologist if that is what you want to do. As long as your BA has similiar psychology course content to that of a BS there should be no concerns. It doesn't matter if you have a BS or a BA, the graduate institution will want to know if the courses taken reflect the knowledge they believe to be relevant. Good Luck and don't give up.

It depends on your state regulations. In Pennsylvania, if you want to take a test to be a licensed psychologist, you either have to get your masters in social work, or phd in psychology. Check with the licensing board of the American Psychology Association (APA) in your state.
