Wow. tough one. This REALLY depends on your type of humor. My list of classics, and anyone can be a favorite on any given day: History of the World Part 1, Caddyshack, Space Balls, Spinal Tap, Stripes, Fletch...I could keep going very easily.

More recent: Borat (Could be one of the funniest ever), Jackass, American Pie (When originally released, has since lost appeal with too many sequels), Brain Candy (not too recent, but not yet a classic)...

Raising Arizona.

Extremely dry humor, good acting, and the premise that a couple (nicholas cage and holly hunter), a 6 time covicted felon and a prison guard, are unable to have a child so they kidnap one from the owner of an unpainted furniture chain who just had quintuplets. Some of the funniest one-liners in a movie and by far, the greatest chase scene captured on film ever.

Wow...SO MANY!!!! Rather than give a vote for funniest ever, I will offer up a movie title that I don't think many people have seen.

Strangers With Candy

It's written by Stephen Colbert, and it's so dumb that it's hilarious! If you like the Colbert Report, then you'll find this funny too! Even if you don't like the Report, watch it anyway! (Colbert also has a big role in it...a gay science teacher!)

There are many 2 choose from, but I like all the Austin Powers
movies, especially the ones with Mini-Me. The original funny guys, the Marx Brothers and The Three Stooges movies are also very funny.........

My Blue Heaven. This choice may have a lot to do with liking very bad boys when I was much younger. They were so much fun. While there is a lot of slapstick stuff it is really uplifting. Made me want to go out and dance.
