apply for a capital one mastercard. or any unsecured card, but if you must, settle for a secured card. start rebuilding your rating by getting some kind of revolving credit. this would include a credit card, car loan, or mortgage. also paying your bills on time is a must. don't sweat paying a deposit on something like a cell phone, it'll be returned to you within a year and will look good on your credit provided you pay the bills on time. i went bankrupt 3 years ago, i'm a stay at home mom, and even with no job, ppl are giving me unsecured credit cards, no cosigner, it's crazy. good luck!
