Liberals fear what they can't understand. If the left ever takes over America then we'll be One Nation Under Atheism, and the communist state with socialism and welfare for all.

It's always enlightening to read statements proclaiming that non-Christians are all either communists or socialists (and consequently, evil). I could, I suppose, spend time trying to figure out how not being a Christian necessarily makes you a communist or a socialist, but come on... I think we all know that the one has nothing to do with the other. It's simply that, in the minds of the pro-Bush, pro-God, pro-war, anti-intellect, anti-government, anti-civil rights crowd, being a communist or socialist is "just 'bout the worst thing a person could be." Of course, they'll never really explain to you WHY that is... To them, it's simply enough to accuse someone of doing something they've just assumed is bad and leave it at that. It's rather akin to the way children taunt each other on the playground. Come to think of it, comparing Christians to children is really quite appropriate.

The simple fact is this: It's not liberals who are scared of Christians. It's the other way around... And for good reason.

Imagine that everything you believe in -- the very essence that defines your existence -- is based upon the philosophical meanderings of a book written in the Bronze Age, and that every single advance in modern science in the last 500 years has progressively chipped away at your reasons for believing in said book. Furthermore, imagine that you live in a society where most of the college educated people are at odds with your religious and political beliefs, and that they (scientists, ethicists, and doctors) are every day exposing more reasons for why you shouldn't believe in the silly things that you do. Heck, if I were a Christian, I'd be scared, too. Their whole world is crashing down around them, and they don't know what to do... except complain.

The fear that Christians feel is very real, and as much as I can sympathize with them on a human level, in the end I know that the end of their tyrannical power over society -- the end of all religious tyranny, for that matter -- is the best thing that can happen to this world.

Make no mistake: It's the RELIGIOUS who are scared. They're scared because, deep down, most of them know that they're wrong. The problem, though, is that they're too embarrassed to admit it.

Untrue.
I am far left. Very left in fact but am also a Christian.
I am not intimidated by religion. I dislike people who abuse religion.

Mitt Romney is a punk and will never be President.

its not intimidation. when you are talking about radicals and extremeists its fear- and for good reason.
how can someone not fear that chidlren are being taught to kill and to die ni the name of god? or that these kids know nothing but intolerance?
how can you not fear that these children will grow into adulthood one day?
all it takes is one smart person raised in this fashion to obtain a gun or build a bomb.

not as far as moderate or regular religions go, theres no real fear or intimidation. there is worry around election time because liberals value the seperation of church and state and fight for individual rights, not religious principles. but thats about it

(and it doesn't matter what faith a politian is, it matter is they can do their job and not let their beliefs. it about the law and the rights and will of the people- not the person voting)

President Richard Nixon was a Quaker and he was not impeached. I have to agree however that many of the religious right would not support Romney. I am far more concerned with the religeous left who follow the religeon of Atheism. I don't want them telling my 12 year old daughter its all right to have sex before she is married. I don't want them telling my 10 year old son that it's allright to be gay but not a spank-o-file, guys who like to spank females or a pedofile but other than those two your sexual preference is ok. I don't want thier precious theory of evolution taught in the class rooms unless it is presented as a theory and that all the frauds of it scientists are exposed. I don't think Romney has a chance cause the South won't support him.

I think most people would say that i am a liberal, but i am also a Christian. I don't fear religious people at all. There is a seperation of Church and State and that is to protect the State as well as the Church. We wouldn't want government putting regulations on churches. The principles of Christianity is have a personal relationship with your maker and most religions today have desorted this idea with their regulations, guidlines, and doctrines.

the left... YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT THE LEFT?

HAHAHA...

here's a clue buddy... you can call me a "seer of the future" when it happens...

but REPUBLICANS will pull this out in the primaries... and it will LOSE HIM THE PRIMARIES...

the left is the LEAST of Mitt's worries right now...

I live in the south and about 75 percent of the people down here think Mormons are a cult (and frankly, they don't care what you or anyone else has to say about it)... good luck sailing that ship in these conservative waters...

and why would anyone be intimidated by a person that just references one book for everything they do?

Do you think a Mormon will get the southern fundie vote? Without them the GOP can't put together the votes to win elections. Lots of luck to ya pal.

Romney served for 30 months as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in France. Upon returning from France he transferred to Brigham Young University, where he was valedictorian...

He will not be supported by the religious right.

I don't think they are intimidated by them. The left merely hates them. No one could support Communist Dictators and their slaughter of other humans if they believed in God, any God. The left is mostly atheists and a few agnostics, but God makes their theories fall apart.
So they must attack ALL religion and attack anyone who questions evolution. If this world just sort of happened, like s*** happens, then what is the big deal about killing a million Ukrainians, or 1.7 million Cambodians, or several million Chinese?
As far as Mitt Romney is concerned, they won't hate him any more than they hate George W. Bush.

Probably impeach him; least we forget President Richard Nixon was a Mormon and he was impeached.

I don't know why they are intimidated by religious people. Maybe it's because we are morally right, while they continue to be politically correct, which is more liberal.

I don't ever hate anyone...religion, race, nationality. The Lord teaches us that we are all brothers and sisters. Our rearing has a lot to do with attitudes. Some people just don't want to be bothered with having to answer to our creator, and that's their choice. Far be it from me to talk anyone into being a believer. I'm not in the ministry.
