We just had a house built and never had ceramic tiles in any houses before. Is there anything that keeps them looking good and not dull.

There are cleaners you can buy from specialist tile retailers. Also, unless you have very dark grout, it may be worthwhile buying a grout cleaner as well (or grout sealer, which stops stains penetrating). Bear in mind that the glaze of ceramic tiles does wear over time - the amount of wear depends on their rating (the hardness of the glaze).

Before you even move in, make sure that the grout is sealed first. This prevents the grout from soiling as quickly.
The less water you use to clean, the better. You can clean the floor with vinegar and water or even Windex. Get a mop with a microfiber head and mist the cleaner on the floor and wipe with the mop.

You don't have to buy special products. Many of the specialty products are full of chemicals that are not that good for you or the environment.
A mild detergent and water will suffice. Add white vinegar to the water, it will clean and leave the tile bright and shiny.
