I found this statement made by Herman Goering founder of the gestapo at the Nuremburg trials:

"Naturally the common people dont want war:neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany:that is understood. But after all it is the leaders that determine policy and it is a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy,a fascist dictatorship, communism or parliament.Voice or no voice the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That Is Easy.'
"ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED AND DENOUNCE THE PEACEMAKERS FOR LACK OF PATRIOTISM AND EXPOSING THE COUNTRY TO DANGER.IT WORKS THE SAME IN EVERY COUNTRY"

Not much has changed since WW2 has it.

In some things, a lot has changed. In others, we're exactly the same. the sad thing is that it takes a quote from the 40's to make us realize it.

AND TO THE IDIOTS ABOVE: 9/11 HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IRAQ!

and to those "I don't' listen to the Nazi's" people: While you may not like what they did, they were right about fooling people. The had that down to a science. Goering knew all of this in spades: that's what made him so effective. We may not like that he was effective, but he was. He knew what he was talking about.

Pretty scary, aye?
These tactics are known as "patsies".....they set up false alarms and bring innocent people to their death. I do not want to know anymore----I was heavily wrapped up in Alex Jones and all types of conspiracy theories concerning 9-11 and the London Bombings. It made me nearly insane, finding out too much info, so much of what I researched DID IN FACT LOOK FACTUAL.....but as I stated above, I became "consumed" by all things revolving around that very statement you quoted in your question. It takes away from the freedoms we "still" have; and in due time, it will come to light....THAT WHICH IS THE TRUTH. Until then, I have four children to raise, and cannot fall into a pit of mental despair. I BELIEVE that: YES! 911 looks like an inside job, but I cannot dive into the findings anymore.....these types of things cause people to actually commit suicide...we are heading into headlong, the New World Order, the One World Power....the universal currency....and anyone who remembers what the rational baby-boomers told them as they grew, that Jesus is LORD and that ALL THESE THINGS ARE PROOF OF HIS SECOND COMING......no one seeks GOD anymore, the Apostasy HAS begun.

Many people are put out by the comparison of 1930's Germany and what is happening in the US today, but if you really look at the rise of Hitler and the rise of the Bush administration, there are some striking and eerie similarities. Anyone who questioned Hitler and his cronies were called unpatriotic, just as it is today. But that is only one of many comparisons. If someone had told German citizens what sort of things Hitler's administration would soon do, most of them would never have believed it. I am not saying Bush is Hitler, and it is not constructive to call any political figure you disagree with a nazi, but there are similarities whether coincidental or purposeful.
To all those who speak of 9/11- remember the Reichstag building fire.

Molly, this is a completely different situation.

Goering was talking about how the Nazis convinced the Germans they were "under attack". It was not a military attack, but a social and economic attack. They were being asphyxiated by the onerous terms of the Treaty of Versailles, so the country was very poor.

Hitler rose to power by telling the people that the enemies of Germany were responsible for their misery. (In a big sense, they were).

America is actually under terrorist seige. So far, we have limited the major attacks on our home turf to two..... the two attacks on the WTC. However, I'm sure you have heard the reports of the attacks we thwarted. For every attack the news reports, you can bet there were many that had to be kept secret for national security reasons.

Why is it that people want to stick their head in the sand and pretend the Islama-fascists don't want to do as much harm as they can to us? How many times do we have to read quotes by vermin like Al-Zarkawi or Bin Laden, who come right out and say that their goal is the destruction of the United States of America.

I hope I have made at least one person less gullible.

Well, what is different is our institutions are strong enough, as well as our opposition party, that we just might be able to back out of World War 3 before it starts.
But yeah, the same old tricks still work generally. We'll see how it all plays out.

To the people who really, truly believe that this threat was fabricated by this administration, I would remind all of you that the first attack took place on American soil in 1977. Radical Islamics reside in Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and the heartland of America...now there is something to ponder. For the past 35 years or so, they have been freely traveling in and out of this nation, enjoying the freedoms they hate so much thanks to our tolerance and denial. Keep telling yourselves this is not a real threat and that it was fabricated recently......

yep and we are protecting our selves from those people.......... oh I bet you didnt know that is exactly what the muslim extremists are doing..... I guess you also didnt know that Churchill was considered a war monger for wanting to stop the nazis.

thinking for yourself and lying to yourself are two different things. I would suggest you read the 9/11 report because I know you havent. actually just this section...

We are a very, very stupid nation. People like to act like it's just this youngest generation that knows nothing about logic and comprehension but don't realize those skills haven't been taught in schools for decades... with good reason. The ignorant and docile are so much easier to lead than informed rebels.

Yes, a lot has changed. It was called 9/11 to those who have forgotten. And the so-called free thinkers are the ones who believe in conspiracy theories. Free thinking is lacking common sense.
