Remember though, if you wear low ride breeches, measure your hips, not your waist. It seems like common sense, but so many of my friends have ordered hip hugging breeches in their waist size, and then wondered why they were too big/small.

Most breeches are in inches- measure what your waist is- a 34" breeches would fit most 34" waist. Very rarely will you find the sizing in jeans. With the small, medium large, get what you would for lcomfy pajamas/sweat pants. That size will usually work.
When they use the S M L sizes though, there is so much variation from one company to the next that your best bet is to ask at the store for a measuring tape- and see what the waist actually is in inches.

Typically breeches are sold in sizes that relate to your waste. If you measure your waste and it is say a 24" waste, you'd wear a 24" breech...or if you ware a size 7, then order a size 7. They pretty much are the same as jeans.

They usually come in 22 - 36, regular or long. That refers to your waist measurement.
