Many of them were, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, but many of them were not, including Thomas Jefferson. About half of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Freemasons. And, interestingly, NONE of the men who were involved with designing the famous eye in the pyramid on the back of the Great Seal were Freemasons.

A significant number were Freemasons including John Blair, Benjamin Franklin, James Mchenry, George Washington, Abraham Baldwin, Gunning Bedford, William Blount, David Brearly, Daniel Carroll, Jonathan Dayton, Rufus King, John Langdon, George Read, Roger Sherman, James Madison, Robert Morris, William Paterson, and Charles Pinckney.

Read through every inaugural address since it is an interesting read and is online for all to read. Every single president in the United States addressed the need for God's help in governing the nation from George Washington to President Obama. They all sound a like religious nutjobs to me. Yes, this country is the ONLY country in an international forum,: )

Some were including Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere even George Washington & some were not. Some were thought to be but are still unconfirmed.

Yes, many of them were, including George Washington was a 32nd Degree, the highest level (other then Truman, who was granted a 33rd degree)

Many were, in fact there is a Free Mason temple, dedicated to George Washington, in D.C..
