I within the last few hours fell off a horse and hit the side of my knee on a jump standard (The side poles that hold up the jumps themselves). My knee didn't hurt /that/ badly after I fell, so I limped over and got back on jumped twice more and then decided it hurt to much and I had to stop.

Within the hour my knee swelled on the side and turned red, it hurts to the touch and when I put wait on it. Bend it to much, or straighten it to much. I've taken an advil but it still hurts.

I'm looking for a way to make it feel better, and possibly just a quick diagnosis of what it may be. Thank you.

Alright, now there is a lot of pain, more when walking. It's red and around the red area there is a large bruise, the swelling hasn't gone down.

Sounds to me like you might have damaged your cruciate, man i hope not cause thats a serious injury, Id go to the gp quick as possible. Place ice on the knee to reduce swelling and use crutches if its sore to put weight on it.

Sounds like a deep bone bruise and possibly some torn tendons or muscle damage. Been there, done that! If it continues to hurt and swell and if you can't flex it you may want an xray. I've broken over 24 bones in my dare devil childhood - when you brake one you can't barely stand to touch it let alone stand on it!

An x-ray would be a vital piece of advice because you may have
done damage to your knee-cap that is hurting you know but may
effect u in the future as well. Ice & painkillers will soften the blow of the accident, but it is a crucial part of r well-being as far as walking goes. Old injuries will haunt you, they did me. See a Dr.

just put ice on it and make sure it isn't broken. you probably shouldn't jump but if you want you should be able to just walk your horse.
