My teacher didn't pick this question, every week we watch a 15 minute news show and there is always an issue question the show asks. If our papers are really good, the show takes exerts out of out papers and then our class gets a brownie treat or something, I am fine with these questions though.

Like everyone is sayinng, Capitol Punishment is the death penalty which is used for people in prison that commit serious crimes, usually murder. But they aren't telling you anything about it. Alot of people are against it because of the fact that it's killing a living person. So what they are really doing is telling a person that to kill people is wrong, then they are killing that person. It's kind of contradicting. Other people say that capitol punishment is a good thing because it will kind of scare other people so that they won't commit crimes. If it was enforced more, then prisons wouldn't be as crowded as they are and people wouldn't have to pay as much taxes to keep the "bad guys" in jail. Whether or not you think it's bad is up to you though.

the death penalty is the sentence that is the harshest for terrible crimes like serial killers.
different states have different methods of applying the death penalty.
some states do not allow a death sentence but make it life in prison forever
Capital punishment, or the death penalty, is the execution of a convicted criminal by the state as punishment for crimes known as capital crimes or capital offences. Historically, the execution of criminals and political opponents was used by nearly all societies—both to punish crime and to suppress political dissent. Among democratic countries around the world, most European (all except Belarus), Latin American, many Pacific Area states (including Australia, New Zealand and Timor Leste) and Canada have abolished capital punishment, while the United States, Guatemala, and most of the Caribbean as well as some democracies in Asia

It is the good deed we do, for the bad deed done by another.
It is the taking of a life through the act of execution, by a legal government, of someone who committed a capitol crime. Capitol crime is usually murder, or some other heinous act, such as treason, that is punishable by capitol punishment.
Various types of capitol punishment are: Hanging, lethal injection, electrocution, gas chambers, guillotines (beheading), firing squads, etc.
