ABSOLUTELY.
I know guys who have 50,000 or more on their S&S engines with no problems. Some of them ride hard too so that should tell you they can take it. Four of them are the 96" and one is the 107".
Don't let anyone bad mouth them or the Harley engines. The new twin cam engines are going way past 50,000 miles without problems. My 2000 Wide glide has 65,000 miles and the only problem has been a clutch cable that frayed so I replaced it before it broke.
The S&S plant added on a huge addition and installed a bunch of precision machine equipment about three years ago. I live only a two hours ride from the plant and have been there twice for a tour.

S&S started business in 1958. The old man used techniques he learned from racing Harley's in the 40's. It's now on it's 3rd (grandkids) generation of ownership. Most companies don't last that long by putting out crap on the market.
I haven't that many miles on my S&S (107 cu. in.) engine yet, but at 5,000 miles, not a lick of trouble. Starts every time.

S&S has been around for a long time ,I think maybe like 50 years. They have the V-twin down as good as anyone. When you get into big " motors they don't last as long as smaller square motors but they are still good for 30-40k before a top end and the cranks seldom fail. In short if you are going Big" it's a good choice. I run T.P. myself but am looking into a S&S big" kit for the Sporty.

S&S is Harley's racing stuff. It's expensive, and fun as hell to ride.Or you can get a 1800cc 6cyl and do nothing but change the oil for 100,000mi.Up to you...

A V-twin is a V-twin, no matter who makes it. When you get into higher displacements and compression ratios is when things don't last as long.

compared to what Hardley makes they are extremely reliable, compared to a Honda v-twin they are terrible and Harley cant even be compared.
