I don't know about "flying saucers" in particular, but to believe that life exists only on one planet in the entire universe seems a bit stuck up.
To believe that there are no other races out there that are as or more advanced than ourselves, and just as curious seems also a bit naive.
As we are able, we are exploring other planets. As our capabilities increase, it's likely that our explorations will do the same. If there are others, and they are able to sense our existence through whatever tools they might have, it only makes sense that they would be curious.
Some say that we only began transmitting radio lately, and that it would take a very long time for someone else to sense it and come to investigate. That may be true, but it's also possible that other civilisations might know what sorts of planets and suns give rise to live, and could have been watching this solar system for some time, with that expectation.
Who knows.... the universe is an awful big place, and thinking we're alone seems shallow.

Extraterrestrials and UFOs are most definitely real, and I can prove it. Thanks to revelations made by the researcher John Bentley in his blog, we now know that a secret, highly-trained team has been studying the distant planet Frondar for some time. You won't have seen this on TV or in the press. It is currently only available to a small group of individuals with access to Bentley's blog. And he wants to keep this a secret, probably for military reasons. I, however, feel that the human race has a right to know what is going on. This is a revolutionary discovery and will affect us all. And only a few weeks ago, the team made contact with the highly intelligent Frondarian race. Many fascinating discoveries have been made about this race; for instance, they are half plant, half human, and have a remarkable ability to communicate with other species. Initial conversations with the Frondarians have shown that they are responsible for many of the UFO sightings that have been documented in the press over the last 50 years or so. They also state that if necessary, they will intervene further to save the planet Earth. As I said, I want to spread this information throughout the world. And for this reason I am pasting the link to Bentley's blog below. Please take a look, and then tell as many people as possible. We all need to do our bit to spread the word.

I was a skeptic until my high-school-age daughter, in the company of a group of people including two mature adults/parents, observed one at close range for about five minutes.
Most so-called sightings can be explained, but there remain some - over major cities like Dallas or Washington, D.C., and well documented - that cannot.
Recently - I think it was November 25 of 2006 - an unidentified craft was observed for a period of time in restricted air space over a gate at O'Hare airport. This sighting was described in detail by a significant number of witnesses, including pilots and United Airlines management (who later withdrew their comments). Professionals who value their reputation do not want to be made to look like a fool. Nonetheless, plenty of reports on file by law enforcement officials and others testify to the fact that SOMEthing is out there.

I dont think that a vehicle in the shape of a saucer could steer properly so no, but if i believe in aliens, its possible, but i dont think they will come visit us anytime soon, i dont see any reason for them to want our planet since its so polluted.
And also, if you had a food fight in a tea room that would qualify as flying saucers, No?

Because I have seen them with my own eyes.
Most recently was 2 years ago and I watched half a dozen craft for over 4 hours straight.
The night was clear and still and it was a full moon.
When they went, it was a quick as clicking your fingers and they had disappeared over the horizon.
By the way, I was at a lookout, so I had a damn good view.

The same reason that people believe in the existence of God, to have a better understanding of their lives and the universe as a whole in general.
