why did british immigrate to the usa in the early 19th century?

Perhaps to escape the monarchy, and experience the democracy of the USA, in addition to the opportunities available to the masses during that time. America, during the 1900 had more opportunity than Great Brittan did during that time. America was undergoing the industrial revolution, and provide many opportunities for immigrants to make their dreams a reality. I was the daughter of immigrants from France, and love this country, opportunity, and will defend it at all costs. God Bless The USA!!!!!
