If you have someone, you're under all sorts of pressure to make it all nice and special. If you don't, the rest of the world rubs it in your face.

Yes, because I am still single and I hate it when I see other couples enjoying it when others (like me) feel miserable and depressed because we still haven't found our special other yet.

I bow to you my friend. Very well said... It is a funny day because of what you've just said but why should anyone be pressured when both individuals really love each other. If you are in a relationship, little or big the day turns out to be, you will still be at the same state that you were in yesterday and tomorrow. So why should it matter so much and why should we strive for perfection on another day of the year no more special then that of new years or Christmas? Because we live in a society where our lives are planned for us. Now why should single ones be trampled by taken ones on this day. Beats me, but the ones rubbing it in their faces need a beating for being so ill-mannered and idiotic because they feel unsure of the feelings they think they feel so they need some sort of reinforcement to make them believe that they actually love the person. Bloody Wanks!!!

Yeah, i agree with you. I am married with a child, and you know we just cant afford to go out or find a babysitter or even he may be working. There is an inconvenience every year.
Not to mention the fact I cannot leave the house to go get him just a card because I cannot drive at all. I have seizures. So I feel guilty if he runs by the store and gets me a card and a single rose or something. I feel ashamed like a bad wife that didn't try hard enough to get to the store ar anything.
They don't rub it in my face, but I grind it in my mind. The guilt that is
So, I feel ya.
Happy Valentine's Day

It depends on the couple if you are attached. If you as a couple decide not to make it a big deal, who cares what the rest of the world thinks. It matters only what you and your significant other thinks. I normally am alone and never had anyone. This year I have a boyfriend and have no idea what I am "suppose" to do. I plan to just make him a dinner. I don't expect him to do anything for me. He does a lot for me anyway and I really appreciate it. He works different hours than I do and I won't see him that day anyway. I will probably make him dinner the night before. No big deal. I do that on occasion anyway. I don't believe you have to spend a lot of money on that day.

It depends on how you think about it. Some people really don't care about Valentine's Day and shrug it off. To some people the cruelest day of the year could be Christmas if they get teased for not getting good presents, not having money for presents, etc. It all depends on how you look at it.

Ha ha! No, Devil's night is the cruelest day.

My husband never does anything for me for Valentines day. He waits till after V day and goes to get me candy that's on sale. That's just the way he is, lol!

Who cares about the rest of the world!

LOVE should be shared EVERY day not just Feb 14th.

If you feel pressure from the person you love to make that one day all perfect - try focusing on all the other days.

Its only crappy if you think it is

A day is what you make of it. I never had a problem with Valentines Day until i let it get to me one year. That year i actually "thought about it". If you actually sit and think about the day then yes it can get to you, on either side.

yes it can be cruel.if your alone .and its all so overrated anyhow most love and crushes so to speak shouldnt need fancy presents ,or gifts to prove to someone you truely care. love comes from the heart not a store there are plenty of inexspensive ways to say happy valentines day like say , ilove you. most men really strugle with them words even thoe they do care very deeply.heck stay home. cook a speacial meal .throw in the candles and your good to go.

Its just a holiday, why take it so seriously? If you have someone you need to make the whole relationship nice, all year long, not just for a day. And if you dont, then its no one els'e business.

It's a holiday created by commercialism. It's torture for the single people and the couples in the world are forced to buy gifts for their significant other.
