and sex education to young kids, oh and don't forget the whole birth control thing. . .. . .. . . . Don't you think it would be prudent to teach and SHOW exactly what an ABORTION is ? Isn't that FAIR ?
Haven't I heard about a MILLION times that pro-abortion women say it's a matter of CHOICE ? Well then, how about we give those girls a CHOICE !!!!

But since your so into equality for boys and girls, then you must be for equal decisions from the BOY as well as the GIRL . They would BOTH get to CHOSE on whether THEY had an ABORTION or not !!!!! RIGHT ????

Don't you think that that is asking a lot of the party of No Choice!
I mean they are they ones who opposed school vouchers because parents shouldn't have a CHOICE of where to send their kids to school!
They oppose the Creation Model being taught along side the THEORY of Evolution because they are afraid that when children are presented with SCIENTIFIC evidence from both sides the may not make the right CHOICE!
They feel that the CHOICE to MURDER inside the womb is ok, but when the CHOICE is made to execute a MURDERER that people should not have that CHOICE!
Incidentally have you ever noticed that only people who are already born support Abortion, much like only people who were not Jewish supported the Holocaust!

I do think it would be prudent to teach them about abortion. We need to be honest with children. What we don't need is to teach them is lies about abortion. We should teach them the good and the bad as it is with everything in life. So is your position that there should be no condoms, no birth control, no abortion, only abstinence? That's a lovely thought, but quite unrealistic. We can't solve problems with a hope and a dream. Reality is people have sex, and no amount of abstinence training is going to prevent that. Abortions have been a part of reality for a long long time, and nothing is going to change that. The best way to lessen the instance of abortion is through honest sex education with an emphasis on abstinence, but abstinence cannot be the end all and be all in the discussion of sex. Abortion is a matter of choice, women made the choice to have an abortion even before it was legalized, but it is not a simple black and white issue, and anyone one on either side of the debate who tries to paint abortion as being totally right or totally wrong is misinformed and naive.

Well, I'm not going to answer your main question, which is obviously sarcastic and rhetorical. I'll skip down to your second paragraph.
"Haven't I heard about a MILLION times that pro-abortion women ..."
No, you haven't, because there is no such thing as pro-abortion.
It's pro-choice.
You know, there could be laws passed that would decrease the number of abortions, such as clarifying time-frames and procedures allowed. A majority of Americans would be for more limits on abortion than there are right now, but there just seemingly isn't any compromise with people like you.
You elect these all-or-nothing republican politicians who, every time the subject comes up, play the same song on the world's tiniest violin about pro-life vs pro-abortion and the sanctity of fetuses.
We could regulate and clarify this subject better if everyone would take a deep breath and be rational, instead of decrying everyone else's morality and doing the holier-than-thou thing.
And if you really want to call your side "pro-life," fight against war and executions. Until then, I am revoking the "pro-life" name and calling you "anti-choice."

yeah I reckon abortion should be explained or at least included in any sex/health education - for boys and girls. Especially as some birth control pills actually act as an abortificant anyway. I guess that teaching about birth control is to say that preventing an unwanted pregnancy is preferable to terminating one.
I don't believe giving people the facts and educating them is necessarily teaching alternative lifestyles, however, whatever you deem to be alternative.

LOL @ the 1st answer.. :) Yeah, ethic could be an excellent concept, yet i'm no longer too specific how involved youngsters would be in ethics. individually i think of coaching faith to anyone whether they are not non secular, is in simple terms idiotic. yet then with ethics, some youngsters will in simple terms declare they already be conscious of what's appropriate/incorrect. With faith it is greater brainwashing and controlling via fact a supernatural being reported so and it includes history (actual/pretend). non secular coaching would desire to be non-compulsory in Australia, and not in basic terms Christianity would desire to learn. yet i think of faith should not be "taught" in public college ever (till it have been a non secular college). My college had a Christian club that a guy used to return in and consult from each lunch time on Wednesday. i think of that's lots greater greater effective than having faith etched into coaching.

The teenage pregnancy rate in the U.S. is dropping and when they ask teens why, they say it's because they use protection.
Shouldn't it stand to reason that less teen pregnancies mean less abortions? So, why exactly are you complaining that these teens are learning to protect themselves and in turn are preventing pregnancies and abortions?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I read your question and the sarcasm was evident. You obviously have a problem with teaching sex education. Sex Education keeps kids from getting pregnant and getting abortions. So you obviously have a problem with something that minimizes the number of abortions in our country.
Oh, and I could care less if they showed an abortion. They could show 20 abortions. The point is If they show the teens how to protect themselves, it wouldn't get to the point where abortion is necessary.

Sure, the more that we can teach to our youth, the better.
I'm curious, the tone of your question seems to state that you believe there are certain things, issues, and ideas that should not be taught.
Your user name suggest that you either hold a degree or consider yourself to be intelligent.
Is there some reason why you believe that we should limit the information that we teach to children? Is ignorance bliss?

There's that fundyism rearing it's ugly head again. Try to understand that not everyone feels like you do, and that their way actually does a better job of keeping kids safe from std's, pregancy, and abortion.
