If you join the military not expecting to get into a war you are just too dumb and need to shoot yourself.

It's really good suggestion however there is a reason why military can't be democratic. One is because they need a clear meaning or order of what they should do. If they would be democratic there would come a time when their views might hinder their performance example although the military have chosen to go to war 40% might not agree with it and because they have different views they might not cooperate to win the war. In order to be effective troop , obedience is often obligatory. Message must be clear to every soldier. Democracy in military splits views and might cause confusion.

in our democratic society, does ever single person get all the information about everything that gets voted on and passed, no. the same thing with the military, if they had to spend the time to inform ever solider about all the information about the opposition, the enemy would die of old age before an informed decision could be made to go to war or not. if just wouldn't work out, just like any business, the person at the top, meaning Bush right now, makes the decision and the rest follow.

No, democracy would not artwork. united statesa. isn't a democracy. Plus they choose disapline interior the defense force. those squaddies gave up their rights even as they signed up. in the experience that they did not comprehend what they were entering into, its too undesirable. they don't whine and cry even as they are amassing assessments in peace time. If it turned right into a draft, then it should be a diverse tale. the persons vote on it they flow to conflict or not. the persons vote for congress, and they are meant to be those that declare conflict. because they are not doing it, blame the congress.

Nope, there duty is to serve and follow orders. They are fully aware of this when they sign the dotted line. If you all walk out of your home room class and skip the day, guess what? You fail.

Nope! They sign up knowing that there's a possibility that they can go to war and even die. That's what they sign up for. You can't have alot of pity on people who ask to be tortured. Sorry....

This will explain the whole thing to you and then you can ask more questions? eh?

I think that would be more like anarchy. It gives to much freedom to the soldiers. Not really a good way to safe guard anything.
