Sounds like another unkowing parent! He is in effect paying a company for broadband and then paying AOL for their stupid browser! AOL DOES NOT provide broadband! AOL connects you with a company that sells you broadband and then AOL tacks on an extra fee! Tell him to get rid of that funky AOL and reconnect to the same or a different broadband provider! He is gettin it stuck in his bum!

Just long on with AOL, minimize it and then open up Firefox. I was Firefox user for years. I think IE 7 is much better and I can finally say Microsoft came out with a useful browser.

Hmmm....

Go into AOL and see what the proxy settings are for it to connect. Write them down and close AOL.
Open up Firefox and put in those proxy settings.
It should, theoretically, work.

Firefox is a great choice, and do either you or your dad use Outlook? I'd recommend switching over to Thunderbird - it's faster, safer, etc, and with a couple add-ons you can download your Yahoo mail without paying for POP3 access!

Just don't use AOL. AOL is terrible, there software is poor. adware and spyware actually specifically targets AOL users because everybody knows they are easy targets.

In the mean time, it must have something to do with AOLs security. Shutdown, and uninstall, any AOL anti-virus software, firewalls, etc. They are a joke, only effective it limiting your computer use.
