For english, I have to write a research paper. I chose Frankenstein, don't ask why. Anyways, I have no clue as to what topic to write about. I'm so confused about this whole thing, I don't really understand what kind of topics I'm supposed to be thinking about. This makes no sense to me. What would be a good topic with lots of information available? I'm so confused

How about mankind's tendency to play God? I could write a book about that.

Another option ... when the book opens Dr Frankenstein has already chased the monster a good way to the North Pole. You could write about a man's obsession with destroying his mistake.
But most people write about scientists "playing God" and parallel that to cloning, stem cell research, and other current topic/issues.

The main character's attempt to circumvent the role of woman in giving life by trying to create human life without a woman. So that eventually there would no longer be any need for women in society.
