This kind of thing happens all the time. Songwriters often let more than one artist record their songs, just in an effort to make it a hit. Occasionally it becomes a hit in more than one genre, but that's all right, it's just a little more cash for the songwriters. BTW, based on when both albums were released and the average length of time to record, both versions of the song were probably recorded before Hinder had a hit with it. And Jack Ingram's version is good, I actually prefer it.

I heard it too, He's awful.. I love country music but I like rock also, and he totally butchered Hinders song.

the song is hinders. i have no idea what that divine brown thing is but that is so totally wrong. gonna have to send that link to the guys. anyway, jack ingram is a thief who can't get big on his own songs so he had to steal hinders. austin wrote the song from his own experience. ingram needs to be shot

That isn't exactly Hinder's song either. It is a cover of someone else's song. I'll get the artist to you in a bit.

i guess because that seems to be the popular thing to do these days--record the same song in two or three different genres. i'm sure it has something to do with attracting fans {read: attracting money}.

because he felt like it. if you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it. although, i like the hinder version of it better myself, but don't go around dissing country music.

because anyone can record anyone else's song as long as they pay them a compulsory royalty fee.
