hell yea i hate when songs become over played on the radio i mean i used 2 love nickelback and their song photograph and they played it out way 2 much but the truth is that the band dosn't care how many times their song gets played they only care about makin the money it sucks that these days more bands play songs for the attention of new fans rather than sticking to the real fands who follow the band since the beganing. now its like a race to get the biggest fan base, thats why i love metal you never hear any metal bands on the radio and you will never get any fake fans tht just follow the band cuz they have 1 good song. I listen to metal and i have to say that metal has one of the loyalest fan bases out there because they never get any media atention and it is their loyal fans that they play for. Not the new fans who will be gone by tomarrow, metal bands never changes their sound for more radio play like the other bands and singers do i just wish it went back to the gud old dayz of music the dayz of playin a song 3 times a week and thats it

I agree with you. I'm not really a fan of popular music (as I am a heavy metal person, I don't tend to hear my music overplayed XD) but still there is the occasinal mainstream song I like on the radio, and it gets wildly overplayed which is most annoying.

a good song that hits the airwaves has little hope of not being overplayed, simply because the more its played the more the station gets you to listen to it, therefore increasing its audience and making its marketability greater

Definitely...I quit listening to the radio when it went to all "canned" programming.Unfortunately, though, because I DON'T listen to the radio I seldom know what's currently being heard.I don't hear "new" artists unless someone tells me about them then my curiosity leads me to seek it out. I know Tool and Godsmack aren't new artists by any means but they are the newest in my collection.
