I was on the internet and my Winamp program would not shut down. I shut down the laptop and tried to reboot but nothing happened. I am getting power because the light is on and I hear it running but the screen is dark and will not go into Windows setup. It won't go to Windows at all so I can't use the F8 key to start in safe mode since none of the keys work. Any suggestions?

What you have may be what's called 'A Blue Screen'--your computer screen is blank and the computer is unresponsive. If so, press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds. The computer will shut down abruptly, but it's the only way. Then, start the computer.
I believe this can be caused by both system overload or a virus.

Take HDD out and save files from another PC before trying further or reinstalling software.
