I BOUGHT A CHINESE MAKE MP4 PLAYER OF 4 GB CAPACITY.ONCE I SWITCHED IT OFF WHILE A MP3 SONG WAS PLAYING.AGAIN WHEN I TRIED TO LISTEN TO SONGS IT SAYS "DISK ERROR".WHEN CONNECTED TO PC IT SAYS TO FORMAT IT SINCE FILE SYSTEM HAS BECOME RAW INSTEAD OF BEING FAT.BUT DEALER SAYS NEVER TO FORMAT IT.WHAT SHOULD I DO?FM PLAYER IS WORKING.MAIN MENU GUI IS COMING.SINCE THE PRODUCT WAS CHINESE NO WARRANTY WAS GIVEN.PL. ADVICE SHOULD I FORMAT IT.

That was the same problem with me i bought a Chinese mp3 player(SanDisk Sansa e-series) and i solved the problem using my plan A so u got three plans to solve ie

plan A
search for u r mp3 player manufacturer site and download the software to format and re install the firmware(which operates your player) for u r player
or

use my plan B
raw is not any file system !it appears when windows cant get file system of your drive so you hav 2 format if u are afraid of your dealer then there is a way to check whether u r player will be harmed if u format it . just remember if your player's total disc space shown in windows is just less than 4GB like 3.99GB or more than that ! if yes then you are safe to format your player using FAT or whatever format allowed to be formatted in the format dialog so take a try and don't blame me if failed

i think ur ipode needs to be reformatted.

In the menu if there is an option to reformat the unit. Use that format. do try more than single time.

if not then i think some bad sectors r there in ur ipode memory. & such problem is quite difficult to trouble shoot.
