Is there a relationship between sea level change and wave heights?

for example, will a rise in sea level cause larger waves at the coast?

The height of waves depends on the water depth and slope as the waves approach the shore.
So, if we have a beach with a 1 degree slope above and below the water, a simple rise in the water depth will NOT cause a change in wave heights.
