she's wondering why it's taking so long (because you're slow),
or she's wondering how you could possibly not have any questions with such a big assignment (because you're lame),
or she's wondering where you're at on it and what direction you're headed in (most likely)
she's your manager. it's their job to do this. my advice: go proactive and give her an update and a date it will be finished. that's your job. it's the nature of the boss / slave relationship.

If you have any questions about the assignment, ask her. Then, ask when she would like it completed by. Make sure you have it done by that date.
That should take care of it. She probably asked b/c she wanted it done already and wondered why it wasn't.
