Any advice for foreign medical graduates trying to do residency in the states?

That will probably depend on the field of study you hope to take on. New York, Boston, Houston, Cleveland, Los Angeles and Chicago have a large choice of programs
You will have to interview well and have good background to get into a good program.

where are you coming from? thats a big factor! you will prob want to be in a big city--check out from search engines what med schools are in each city and continue your research from there to see if your studies so far are accredited here in the us
