1. Area is Length times width. To calculate, all measurements need to be in the same units. 12 feet wide (4 yards x 3) x 10 feet long is 120 square feet.

2. Feet would be the best measurment for the perimeter, since it is easier to convert 4 yards to 12 feet than it is to conver 10 feet in to 3.333333333... yards.

3. smallest unit of what? measurement? weight? volume? all are different scales

4. longest unit of what? (see number 3)

5. Most doorways are 6 1/2 feet (80 inches), but there are different sizes. If your classroom is in a chemical laboratory, for example, the doors might be a different height.

6. Mid size what model? Japanese? American? A 1980 mid sized versus a 2000 mid sized? Best I could do would be take an average.

4 yards equals 12 feet so the flower bed is 12 feet by 10 feet which is 120 square feet
