I've painted a motorcycle frame with spray cans and it looks fine. I put one coat of paint on about two weeks ago. My question is, how many coats should I apply and how long should I wait for the paint to cure before putting the cycle back together?

I'd think at least one coat of primer and two coats of the paint you want for the color of the body. It'd depend on the weather and where you're painting it and what the temperature is. The warmer the better. I'd give at least a day,or two between coats, including primer. Check the cans to see what they say as different manufacturers have different specs.Don't forget to ventilate and wear safety equipment.

motorcycle frames really need to be powder coated . Spray cans will only look good for a very short time

Probably 2 coats but no more than 3. I'd wait at least 48 hours before you start reassembling. If it's in a cold place maybe ever 72 hours.

Thats no better than hardware store spray paint. Baked enamel is going to be the toughest and best looking. Call a few powdercoat shops and see what rates you can get if you do all the prep. Anything less is on the cheap and you will get just what you pay for.

I would powder coat it. Less of a chance of chipping.
