With all the hoop-la surrounding religions and it seems you must declare a religion in order to run for office in the US could you vote for an atheist/agnotstic?

Morality and religion are two totally different things. Some of the most moral people I know don't believe in God and some of the most hypocritical profess to be religious.
The candidate who earns my vote has to have the morals and viewpoint closest to mine. Since one can be moral without being religious, being agnostic or atheist makes no difference to me.

If they had all the qualifications necessary to be President, sure I would vote for them.
I can't wait to read all the negative responses. There was a poll conducted by the University of Minnesota last year that stated that atheists were the most mistrusted minority in the US.

Absolutely. It's time to get the religious extremists out of the issue making side of politics, all it does is cause the country harm. If you are old enough to vote and don't have the capacity to think for yourself, you shouldn't vote.

I'd actually much prefer an agnostic or aetheist in office. You can see what's happened to the current administration since the Chimptard (oh 'scuse me, I mean Bush) started "listening to God".
Though actually, I think he was just hearing voices.

I don't see why not. As long as they're a decent individual, and they're willing to work with the opposite party, I don't care WHAT religion they are. I will not, however, vote for a satanist.

I would, being an atheist myself. Polls show most would not - because of some ridiculous idea that atheists/agnostics have no morals.
