if you go to the ipod website, look for a thing that says support and they tell you exactly what to do. mine did that and i went and did what they told me and now it works fine.

Well, I am not sure, try reseting it or calling customer support. Try troubleshooting. Also, I gotta tell you, ipods are poo so you should have expected it. Get a better MP3 player. I don't get the obssesion with ipods-they aren't very good and they are more expensive.

hold down the middle button and the menu botton at the same time(make sure it isn't locked) and it should reset. Sometimes it erases music but you just have to plug it back in.

Mine does that all the time. If you kept it in its charger for a long time just let it sit out of its charger and don't use it overnight. Good Luck!

it should be in the handbook it came with and if that didn't work then go to place you got it from and then you exchange it has warranty
