I was driving yesterday thinking to myself what if the USA bought Mexico? What would happen? It would benefit Mexico but would it help the US? We would no longer need to worry about border control, except for south america. But I think it would be a great idea, let me know what you think.

I can not believe that I have just read this. I have been thinking the same thing. I have taken it a step further...why not make Mexico a state. We did it with Hawaii and Alaska, why not Mexico?
Then there would be no illegal aliens. We could travel to Mexico without passports. All of the money the illegals are making now would have to be reported and taxed. I think that it is a great idea.
Congratulations for being a forward thinker...like, of course, me.

The insurance can be a big deal in the States. If you get insurance through your employer the company that carries the policy can vary the pre-existing conditions clause, they can be included immediately, after a waiting period of usually a year, or be waived if you can prove you had insurance before taking the position, depends on the policy, but you would still be insured for everything else, but it's not free, there are usually co-pays, any where from $10 - $50 to visit a doctor, it can be quite complicated and quite different from what you are use to. Saying all that there are great opportunities in the US, and broadening your horizons is always a good thing. Conn is not cheap, although there are areas that are less expensive. Living in New York State or Rhode Island and commuting in may be an option for you.

The US can buy Mexico if the government of the latter collapsed and no longer capable to rehabilitate. Mexicans can now be legal US citizens and they will be happy.

They are ready, set and so NEAR "go" to the AMERO; where we much to our own harm, follow European lead and gather all of North America into ONE NATION!
All this is IS the fast paced move toward a NWO, and it is plain to see. To divide the sovereignity of AMERICA as a ONE NATION in and of itself, is paramount in the heaping BAD DECISIONS the U.S.A has made in recent decades.
And even though it is all foretold in SCRIPTURE, we turn a blind eye to the prophecies that have all been foretold with chilling ACCURACY!!!~

If we bought Mexico the "border" then would be shoreline...would that be easier to defend?? We'd need to include the peninsula of course...the coast guard would need to be increased...right?

It is a very romantic idea but not a good one. While we are at it lets buy Belize and El Salvador and maybe we can have Jamaica for free since we are such big spenders

Our country would become "big Mexico". With the countryside turning into a craphole even faster. Drug cartels over here legally...give me a break...I don't know where you got the idea that this would be a good thing.
