Dick's Last Resort is a fun place, good chicken and ribs. I had a blast. I love taking tourists there

If you're looking for steak, I'd recommend Wildfire, at 159 W. Erie. It's popular with tourists, but not nearly to the extent of Ruth Chris's Steak House or some of the other chains in the area, and is not as expensive. If you want a good genuine Chicago restaurant, Lou Malnati's pizza (various locations around Chicago, but the one at 439 N. Wells is the best) is great.

Try Wildfire (159 W. Erie). Great steaks, not too pricy. Cy's Steak and Chop house (4138 n. Lincoln) is pretty cool and so it Select Cut on North Halsted St. Brazazz (539 n. dearborn) and Fogo de Chao (661 n. LaSalle) are two of those new Brazilian type restaurants that have the waiters constantly bring you different cuts of beef, pork, etc. and carve it at your tableside. They give you a card and when you're ready for the next selection of meat, you flip it over. It's a little pricy but you can eat as much as you can. The Chicago Firehouse on South Michigan is pretty new, haven't been there but I've heard good things. And Gene and Georgetti's at 500 N. Franklin is a legend. Small but EVERYONE goes there...

Bandit- I have to agree with u. Gene and Jude's have the best hot dogs. But for a nice sit down dinner with lots of options, The Cheesecake Factory in the John Hancock is great or Lawry's downtown or Magnum's is always good.

TasteBud sounds extra sensible to me. the different promises New Haven Pizza, Filafel, grocery and a catering place...what's that? the final places to consume are actually not inevitably in Bucktown / Wicker Park. i'm not prepared on Pizano's pizza nor Billy Goat Tavern and the Drake hotel's Cape Cod Room is extra ordinary than the tea room however the judgements are extra sensible than a catering keep

A cheap and interesting place with surprisingly good steaks is Ronny's, which is in the Thompson office building right next to the Clark/Lake 'L' station in the Loop. You'll get good food and a lot of local color.
