She's a hypocrit. Just like most libs. The plane she has now, sure was good enough for former Speaker, Denny Hastert. But now that she's in control everything has to be bigger & better. She claims that it's because it won't fly coast to coast without refueling. But what does that matter. She says it's a safety issue. But the plane has a military escort. She's as safe as a baby in momma's arms
The real problem is she'll have to stop over in a place she doesn't even consider America. Middle America that is. You know how these people think, America is only on the coastlines. The only time they "see" middle America is when they're flying over it.
And with regard to "global warming". Do you really think she cares? Of course not. Even though common sense would tell you that a bigger plane is gonna have greater emissions. But apparently this doesn't matter.
You also mentioned the taxpayers. I have to laugh at that. The only time that these people, (both Dems and Reps) "care" about the taxpayers, is when it comes time to be re-elected. During the other times it's all about the lobbiest, and how much money they can line their pockets with.

Because she is special and so much better than you and me. I don't understand why a 12 passenger Gulf stream V isn't good enough (like the one used by Hastert). They burn less fossil fuel and give off way less "greenhouse gas". I guess that's why the Mercedes Marxists want us to cut back, so there will be more for them.
As to the cost differential, a larger plane means greater fuel consumption, greater acquisition cost (planes have a limited life expressed in hours and part of their hourly cost is their price divided by their expected life in hours, a 757 costs about 25 times as much as a GS-V, they are the civilian versions of the planes in question), greater maintenance costs and larger crew (and please don't say that they get paid either way, when we figure the cost of the war in Iraq or anything the military does, we count the cost of the personnel, since they have value doing other things)

If she mentions one word about raising gas taxes again or global warming, she will rot in hell.

Why does she need such a huge plane funded by taxpayers (with entertainment center, bedroom and a staf of 16 attendants) when she is already a multimillionaire? Because all liberals are hypocrite elitists. That's why.

She needs it because after the Democrats won she went out and bought a bunch of BDSM gear. The chest she keeps her gimp in fit on her old plane but the ceiling was too low to hang the new the **** swing. Plus the bed of nails she sleeps on wouldn't get through the door on the old plane either.

Bigger is better. How much does it cost to fly Air Force One around? Probably more than that.
Like it or not, Pelosi is the 3rd in line now as far as leadership in our country. Right below Dick Cheney. (wow, that didnt sound right).
Of course she deserves special security and special planes.
