if it's slow...
DDR SDRAM is a type of RAM.
Quote from Wikipedia.org "DDR SDRAM or double-data-rate synchronous dynamic random access memory is a type of memory integrated circuit used in computers. It achieves greater bandwidth than the preceding single-data-rate SDRAM by transferring data on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal (double pumped)."

Sometimes you can look at the RAM speed in "My Computer" properties. From there you could get an idea. Otherwise there are various memory configurators, such as www.crucial.com that can tell you. All you need is to use the make and model of your computer.

First, what model of computer do you have? Once you know that, you can look up the specs. Most memory manufacturers, like Viking, Crucial, Kingston etc have on their site tools to help you determine what type of memory you will need.
If you built the computer yourself, find out what type of mother board you have.
