Yes you can connect your laptop to the net via your mobile phone. I'd get a USB cable to do that. As for cheaply, I'm not sure if you're asking about the cost of the cable or the net access.
The cables are cheap if you get them from ebay. The net access is a different story. It depends on how you connect. If you use your phone like a dial up line then it is only the cost of your minutes. However if your phone has high speed data capability then I think you would have to pay a lot extra for that.

if your phone and laptop have bluetooth you can do it . its very slow though, if your laptop hasnt got bluetoooth you may need to buy a dongle. should be around £10
