Another helicopter down in Iraq.- 7 die. According to the U.,S., Iraqi insurgents have used heavy machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and shouldered-fired SA-7 anti-aircraft missiles throughout the conflict.
U.S. officials believe Iran is supplying Shiite militias with new weapons including more powerful roadside bombs, Katyusha rockets and a newer class of RPGs.

If this is true, where then does Iran get these weapons? Do they manufacture them themselves? Where does "newer class" of RPG's come from? As a matter of fact, doesn't Israel have them? My research tells me that these RPG's can be brought from just about any country, and that their availability is NOT limited to Syria or Iran.
And how in the hell do these weapons get past U.S. controlled checkpoints?

The same way that all weapons manufactured in a few select nations end up everywhere. MONEY!!! Enough money can buy you anything you want, even weapons. We as a nation (America) sell our excess ordinance to other countries and arms brokers. How do we know who they are sold to in turn. We make rules, but they are not enforced. I wish that I could believe in this war, but I cannot. If they institute a draft, I think the Bush girl's should be the first to go, considering their dad believes so strongly in the rightness of his actions regarding Iraq.

They are manufactured worldwide. The borders are so porous its next to impossible to stop the flow without many more troops. I'm sure many have been picked off crossing but we may never know how many. A couple of divisions of Marines would do the trick. Iran and Syria just don't seem to get the message.

it's easy for this stuff to get past checkpoints, the USA has limited manpower and there are plenty of routes into Iraq, you can't search every van and probably some Iraqi national forces are being bribed to let shipments past or are even actively helping to bring these into the country
