I used to have a friend that was very close to me. She ended up getting married to a drug dealer. I got married myself. I work for the police, so I know if ever there was a "bust" to go down, they handcuff everyone first and ask questions later. I knew I could prove I had known her all my life, but I really didn't want to get the "rep" that goes along with being questioned or being around that type of person. I ended our friendship at the time, she has since divorced and we are back in contact. I do not regret removing myself from that situation, because if you "hang" with a dealer, even though you are against drugs, you are guilty by association. You know of their illegal dealings and do nothing to stop it.

well, if you are hanging out with a drug dealer, people will assume you condone the behavior and even partake of the drugs - even if you don't. this can be dangerous territory when it comes to the police, narcotics officers and confidential informants. i've been down this road and it's a nasty one. i said i would never do drugs and i did for about ten years.
the more you see of something (drugs) the more familiar that something becomes. and the more familiar something is, the less dangerous it can seem.
it's a slippery slope and more than one good hearted decent person has slid down it.
plus, take it from someone who knows, you can never trust a dealer. ever. under any circumstances. the moment you think you can, you've become under their influence. dealers use people to finance their own habits, or to finance their pocket books.

YOU BECOME WHAT YOU ARE AROUND. i've seen it a thousand times and it is so very true. if you were totally against drugs, you would not hang out with a dealer.

You are what you think.
By thinking, you hang and you datach, you eat and you digest, you say and you hear, you make yourself as you were yesterday perhaps a little worse, and tomorrow a little better than today. In your life, you do millions of things, not only hanging.

that means who you choose to hang out with says alot about you. and your values and whether you choose to hang out with people with the same values as you. Or like if you hang out with bad people you can start acting like them.

NO, if that was true no one will ever have any friends... everyone is different so everyone will have different ideas about something, which doesnt mean that you cant be their friend.
