You can't learn too much about fish keeping in general and about Discus specifically before jumping into a Discus tank. Read, read, read... hit discus websites, general fish keeping websites and more importantly, buy a good basic aquarium book and a Discus specific book. You will be glad you took the time and spent the money. It will be a small price to pay for success.

Discus are very fragile. Learn about the cycle of a tank if you don't already and get a test kit for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates.
