people expect you to be there for them and get mad when you aren't but when you need them,they're long gone?

Oh heck yah. ALL THE TIME. Just remember to think of yourself also. It's ok to still be there for them, but not at your own expense, especially if they don't reciprocate.

I dont just feel like it, I know it, my friend is classic at the moment she is going through a break up Ive supported her from the start in all manners....... She freaked out with me recently (cheek ) I couldnt beleive it..
When I went through a nervous breakdown and seperation she knew it was going on where was she? I would like to know cos she wasnt helping or supporting me........

There are times when that has happened- one has to have patience and do what they can to maintain a communication without being manipulated. Not easy though- I'm still learning to control some anger issues.

that's exactly why me and my best friend aren't friends eny more,after a 16 year friendship.i got tired of every thing always about her and what she wanted me to do to help her,never 1 time asking me how she could help me.

yes!!! I've known one of "good" friends since 1st grade and everytime he needs help I'm always the first to help him. However when I need his help for anything he always leaves me and never helps out.
I stopped talking to him =)
